Out here in the hills of Costa Rica, where the clouds roll low enough to touch and the mornings start with birds instead of alarms, something quietly magical is taking shape.
It’s called the Cosmic Garden—but it didn’t start as a grand plan. It started the way most meaningful things do, with a feeling that the land had something to say, and someone finally decided to listen.
At first, it was just a piece of jungle doing its thing—wild, tangled, unapologetically alive. The kind of place where toucans argue at sunrise, motmots flick their tails like tiny metronomes, and the occasional rustle in the undergrowth reminds you that you’re not at the top of the food chain. But over time, the vision sharpened: what if this wasn’t just a place to live… what if it became a place to protect, to heal, and to reconnect?
So the work began.
Not the kind of work you post about for likes—but the real kind. Clearing trails by hand. Learning the rhythms of the land. Figuring out where water flows when the rains come hard (and they do come hard). Planting native species not because they look pretty, but because they belong. Because the birds know them. Because the insects depend on them. Because ecosystems aren’t built—they’re restored.
Little by little, the garden started to reveal its purpose.
Birds came first. They always do when you get things right. More species, more songs, more color. What used to be a quiet canopy became a layered orchestra. And with them came the realization that this wasn’t just a garden anymore—it was becoming a sanctuary.
Not the fenced-in, curated kind. Something looser. Wilder. A space where wildlife isn’t displayed—it’s respected. Where humans are guests, not managers.
But the Cosmic Garden isn’t just for the birds.
There’s a different kind of healing happening here too. The kind that sneaks up on you when you’ve been sitting still long enough. When the noise in your head finally gets drowned out by wind in the trees and the low hum of life all around you. People show up carrying stress, burnout, questions they can’t quite articulate… and the land does what it does best. It slows them down. Grounds them. Sometimes shakes them up a little.
No big promises. No forced transformation. Just space.
And somehow, that’s enough.
The vision moving forward is simple, even if the work isn’t:
to create a place where wildlife thrives, where birds have a safe corridor to live and move, and where people can come not to escape life—but to remember how to actually feel it again.
It’s still in progress. Still evolving. Still a bit rough around the edges (okay, a lot rough in places). But that’s part of the beauty. This isn’t a finished product—it’s a living, breathing project.
And if you listen closely, you can already hear what it’s becoming.

It’s being grown
